Goblins, ghosts and witches! It’s time to get out your scariest, silliest, cutest or most original costume on and collect some candy! Even if you don’t live in a neighborhood that is good for trick-or-treating, your kids don’t have to miss out: there are plenty of places to trick-or-treat in your area. Look for teal pumpkins that denote allergy-friendly treats and remember to pack our umbrella, just in case. You don’t have to wait for Halloween night, there are tons of events leading up the big day too. Here are places to trick-or-treat in Olympia and throughout Thurston County.
Head to Bucoda’s BOO-CODA SPOOK-TACUCLAR, where they have trick-or-treating every night in October at Joe’s Place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. That’s a lot of chances to wear your costume! Or maybe, a couple different ones. Joe’s Place is located at 118 S Main Street, Bucoda.

Briggs Community YMCA Rock Climb for Halloween Treats
1530 Yelm Hwy SE, Olympia
October 28: 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Get some early goodies by heading to the Briggs YMCA for a unique trick-or-treating event! Your child can come in costume and scale their amazing climbing wall…while collecting treats. Seriously, how cool is this? The higher the climb, the better the treats! Be sure their costumes are “climbing” friendly!

Rainier Dodge Trunk-or-Treat
2550 Carriage Loop SW, Olympia
October 29: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m., toddlers
3 p.m. – 7 p.m., all ages
Rainier Dodge is having a trunk-or-treat event on October 29. They have two separate time slots, depending on your child’s age. There will be tons of fun, treats and prizes!
American Legion Trunk-or-Treat
2602 Marvin Rd SE, Lacey
October 29: 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
The Cub Scout Pack 9207 is hosting a trunk-or-treat event on October 29. Don your costume, come with friends and have fun! They will have games like witch hat toss, face painting, creepy feels station and even a hay ride. You must RSVP ahead. Space is limited.

Shelton Family YMCA Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat
3101 N Shelton Springs Rd, Shelton
October 30: 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Get your kids dressed up and head to the YMCA in Shelton. This fun, free, trick-or-treating event will be following full COVID guidelines to ensure a safe and fun time! Best part about this trick-or-treat is that even if it rains, you’ll be warm and dry in your car!

First United Methodist Church of Olympia Drive Through Trunk-or-Treat
1224 Legion Way SE, Olympia
October 30: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
The First United Methodist Church of Olympia is having their drive-through event on October 30. Put on your costume and stay out of the weather with this fun event. Drive through and received a bag full of fun Halloween and fall-themed goodies.
Olympia Farmers Market Trick-or-Treating
700 Capitol Way N, Olympia
October 30: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Olympia Farmers Market will be having trick-or-treating as part of their Harvest Celebration. Come in costume, get some goodies, and watch cooking demonstrations. After they trick-or-treat, there will be activities for kids as well.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Trick-or-Read Drive Thru
2424 Heritage Court SW, Olympia
October 30: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington and the South Sound Reading Foundation is having their 2nd annual trick-or-read drive thru. At this free event, kids will get a book, candy and other goodies. Be sure to dress up in costume and your picture taken with their fun backdrop.

You don’t have to worry about the weather when you trick-or-treat inside! Put on your favorite costume and head to Capital Mall to get some free treats.
Griffin School District Trick-or-Treat
6530 33rd Ave NW, Olympia (Griffin Elementary Parking lot)
October 31: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The Griffin PTO and Griffin Neighborhood Association are hosting this year’s trick-or-treat at the Griffin Elementary parking lot. You get to stay in your vehicle while treats are handed to you! They are still looking for donations of candy and people to hand out treats in a decked-out trunk! If interested, contact Becky at furacres@gmail.com. Donations can be dropped off up until October 28 at Griffin School, Griffin Fire Station and Companion Cove.
Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Trunk-or-Treat
2508 State Avenue NE, Olympia
October 31: 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Head to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship for a fun trunk-or-treat event! Dress up and get candy from decorated trunks. There will also be free hot dogs and kids games. Trunk-or-Treat will be in the side-parking lot. There will be security and traffic control to keep everything safe and moving along. When you arrive, go to the large tent and register to receive a bracelet, which gives you access to free food, kid’s games and all the cars handing out candy.

Capital Christian Trunk-or-Treat
4431 Martin Way E, Olympia
October 31: 4:30 p.m.
Capital Christian is having their annual trunk-or-treat event again this year! Your kids can walk through the parking lot, collecting candy from all the decorated cars! Masonic Trunk-or-Treat
455 North Street SE, Tumwater
October 31: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The Masonic group in Tumwater will be having a trunk-or-treat in their parking lot Halloween night. Follow their Facebook page for more information as we get closer to the holiday.
Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation Trunk-or-Treat

October 31: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
The Olympia Unitarian Universalist Congregation is having a Trunk-or-Treat event on Halloween in the early afternoon, making it the perfect time for families who do not want be out after dark! Vote on the best cars and have some spooky fun.
