It is only natural to want the best for our parents, they wanted the best for us after all! As our loved ones age it can be difficult to manage the needs of our aging loved ones–whether care needs or social needs–and the other responsibilities in our lives. This time is precious and best spent spending quality time and making priceless memories. The Sequoia Assisted Living in Olympia handles the day-to-day care so you can do just that. On Saturday, April 5, 2025, from noon to 5 p.m., you are invited to their Spring Showcase to see the quality and love that goes into caring for your relatives.
“They are a great way to introduce yourself to what community life is like at The Sequoia, see what our residents and staff are up to, and learn more about how Assisted Living can help you and your family,” shares Molly Howell, community sales director, about The Sequoia Assisted Living Open House. “We like to welcome the new seasons by opening our doors to Olympia and the surrounding area so everyone can get a little taste of what our residents enjoy every day!”

Learn What ‘a Day in the Life’ of a Sequoia Assisted Living Resident Looks Like
Realizing that Mom, Dad or both need to change their living situation can be a emotional situation, perhaps even frightening, for all involved. Change can be difficult—I know from experience. My own mother is 82 and working on downsizing. It has been a struggle emotionally for us all.
The Spring Showcase at The Sequoia Assisted Living can help not only waylay those fears but also get your parents—and even you—excited for the new life that awaits them at this resident-focused assisted living center. “When it comes down to it, we like people to think of our community as home,” shares Howell. “We want people to be able to see themselves making friends with our residents, enjoying our food, and living their lives as a member of our little family. When you are touring a community and imagine yourself or a loved one in the community, all else being equal, does it feel like somewhere you might call ‘home’?”
The Sequoia Assisted Living offers several floor plans designed specifically for seniors, helping them maintain independence while receiving the emotional, social and physical support they need. Things that you may not think about, like layouts that minimize mobility frustrations, are taken care of by The Sequoia Assisted Living’s thoughtfully crafted floorplans and services. This allows you to just enjoy time with your family members.
“Our open house will feature what life is like in Spring at The Sequoia,” shares Howell. “We’ll have our model apartments set up to explore different ways to set up your apartment. In addition, our staff will be on hand to answer questions about services, costs and more.”

While touring the model home, enjoy appetizers, treats and beverages courtesy of The Sequoia Assisted Living’s talented chef, Rich Northness and his culinary staff. Live music will be provided by Prairie Fire Band—a staff and resident favorite—from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Their Spring Craft Fair will be going on at the same time, so you can shop unique items made by local artists. Then, take a tour and learn all about the features available to you and your family.
The Sequoia Assisted Living will have care staff available for free assessment of needs too!
Importance of Quality Assisted Living
Seniors need to feel they belong and have a community with social interactions. A study by Harvard Health found that seniors who interact with people beyond their family and close friends were more likely to be physically active and be in a more positive mood. “Our apartments are designed to promote resident engagement throughout the community,” shares Howell. “Our building shape makes it easy to never get lost or turned around. And, of course, our dining space, like in most homes, is the heart of our community!”
Attend the Spring Showcase at The Sequoia Assisted Living and picture your loved ones—or even yourself—in your new home. This is your time to ask questions and learn about the community of support at The Sequoia Assisted Living.
“When looking for a care community there are several factors to consider including whether care needs can be met, cost, location, cleanliness, etc. All of them are important, and many communities will fit the needs of most seniors seeking care communities,” share Howell. “What makes The Sequoia different is our people. Our longevity in staff, experience in leadership, and dedication to our residents is unmatched, in my opinion.”
