Port of Olympia Boatswap & Chowder Challenge

The Boatswap & Chowder Challenge is a special community festival that features a clam chowder cook-off among twelve local area restaurants, a boat and gear swap for boaters, plus music and family entertainment all day! This was a community favorite until the event was put on hold in 2008. South Sound seafood lovers and boating bargain hunters have been eagerly anticipating the return of the Boatswap & Chowder Challenge. In years past, the event drew over 1,200 chowder tasters and over 100 entrepreneurs.

The event will open at 10:00 am, with chowder tasting beginning at 12:30. Admission to the event is free, but there is a cost of $5.00 per person to participate in the chowder tasting. Awards for the best tasting chowders will begin at 2:00 pm.
