Women of Note’s spring concert is an exploration of water teachings in British Columbia’s First Nations cultures, which is similar traditions found among the Pacific Northwest Coast Salish people. Accompanying the music, photographs will show the interconnectedness of water, song, and Indigenous cultures. The project aims to bridge cultural understanding and build community through art, focusing on the importance of water as a source of life and focusing the role of women as water protectors in Coast Salish communities. The project is particularly relevant in a time when water protection is a pressing issue. “Teachings of the Water” is unlike any concert you’ve ever heard or seen before! No advance tickets required. Donations appreciated to ensure we continue to bring culture and fine arts to the community.
